Strange. According to Warp Pipe staff, and N-Sider's staff, Nintendo has still more BIG information to reveal about the DS, and select few media sites know what it is. The question is, what is it?
I've been researching this for about an hour, and this is what I've picked up.
Originally, on the N-Sider forums, Dean Bergmann hinted at something BIG to come with the DS in this post:
Quote: Originally Posted by zigg I'm not holding my breath. You still need a matching service of some kind, and Nintendo hasn't exactly been a historically open company -- so don't expect someone else to be able to provide matching. That's even assuming that the game will support 802.
*whistles* If you say so
He then later adds on to his posts...: In response to above.. I'll say nothing but this:
You're lost in the woods of a city, and you know there are others there. But how do you know they're there if you're lost? I know the answer.
A very interesting comment. Another grueling hint: You'll see mid october.
And finally, the picture that started all the theories, along with a comment: I can't say much due to security reasons, obviously it's something really innovative and will revolutionize multiplay. but that's all i can say, i cant tell you specifics yet -- I can drop hints though, so perhaps you can piece the puzzle togeter... give it some personality.
He then mentions the staff of Warp Pipe also dropping hints. So, naturally, I stopped over at that forum as well.
Even more weird hints. Chad, the guy from Warp Pipe, posted a few pictures concerning this new BIG announcement, and they still stump me. Here they are:
A side view:
Now, heres where it gets super confusing, but at the same time seems to make sense. If you havn't caught on yet, this all seems to lead to an online type of multiplay that will supposedly "revolutionize multiplay." So basically, it's gonna kick ass. Strangley enough, someone typed in Marionette into Google and got this image:
See the resemblence? And if you look at the words "Find me," you'll see a lighter "d" between the words....and they spell "ds." Weird. So, Marionette could in reality mean Mario Net. A type of Service to go along with this new way to play.
Another freaky and weird image that drops hints:
If you spell it backwards, it spells "Anti-Isolation." Hmmm...
So, this is all I have right now. Please, do me a favor, and discuss this with me.
You can play detective yourself at the forums:

Anti-Isolation huh? Maybe it could mean that you're never really alone and that there are plenty of people around the world to play with, even if you're isolated from real contact (i.e. face to face conversation).
Now for the Find(s)Me picture, those two would be the same picture, with the details cut out and run through a filter. What could it mean though? A new game where you play a cel shaded Marionette? Just because it has "Mario" in the title doesn't mean that it has to do with Mario. What could find me mean though? Maybe you lose your precious Marionette and you have to find it? I don't know, I'm just spitballing.
I do believe that my "Anti-Isolation" theory has to have some shred of truth in it.

Wow. That really started to make my noggin work. Well I think it could be some massive multiplayer idea that, I dont know, could be GPS? Could GPS have something to do with gaming? That would revolutionary as maybe you could play people by using satalite? Just guessing and trying to start some ideas. Wow, Brandnew you are full of stuff today. This conspiracy is ridiculous. How do people figure it out and piece that stuff together. Mind boggling....

OMG.
Where would we be without you BN?
Ok. So I'm thinking it's some sort of online software or something. Maybe a browser/connection window like Xbox Live.
Man, this press confrence coming up will be so sweet. I can't wait!
Nintendo seriously knows how to put a system out.
EDIT:
Warp Pipe Forum wrote:Maybe the DS is suppose to be easier to get online than just having a wireless router around. Much like cell phone could go online. Or something
. ^ Very ineteresting idea! ANOTHER EDIT: Warp Pipe Forum wrote:There's another post there that I think solves the mystery. To sum it up he says that as long as you're in range or 1 or more other DS's you will be able to see all DS's in range of them, and all in range of them, and all in range of them, and on and on and on. That way, you won't even need to be at a hot-spot to be able to play many different people at any different game at a low ping.
That concept is awesome. Wow, if that worked. It would seriously revolutionize mulitplayer gaming...and the PSP would be screwed.

Ahh! This is cool!
So, here's what I'm interested in..
What is that thing to the right of the DS? Is it some type of accessory device?
What could all of this be about? At first I thought it was some game involving wandering around in the woods with your DS.. but somehow I don't think Nintendo would encourage the youth of america to go get lost somewhere. Imagine the lawsuits!

Haha.
Could that other object be more DS's? Only smaller? Likie, one DS can connect to all others?
Or maybe its a phone line. I don't know, I like the first idea better.
Warp Pipe is definitly helping Nintendo with something, I know it.

I think we need to figure this out. If the PUROG is not group scrambled, then what else could it be? Maybe there is a letter missing? Look at the JON. Maybe it's JOIN, with the I missing?

I was just browsing this forum and stumbled upon this puzzle which looks fun, so here's my 2 cents.
you = you, jon = join, tushar = to share, jord = your, tony = toy?
Put it together and you get "you join to share your toy"

Hmm... maybe they're saying the DS will be a personal universal router for online gaming?
I also think a networked Mario game will be part of the announcement. Nintendo has been saying for years they are working on a Mario Net type of game or application.

I'm starting to think that, with this new news, the DS will be able to get an internet connection from one DS, that's getting it from another, which is getting it from another...and the list continues until the final DS is on a hot spot. It's almost like a chain of some sort. But if this was true...wouldn't the signal weaken as you go from DS to DS? Hmm...maybe there's something inside the DS that amplifies the signal when it reaches you, like a booster you hook up to cable TV...

That makes sense, but then what does purog mean?

the name of the image is to-purog1... searching for purog shows that it is also a mountain in China. Not that the mountain means anything, but that I don't think Purog is a car navigation system...more likely, it is displaying a route "to purog" - which may be the mountain or another place like a city near the mountain? Maybe purog is acually a word in Chinese...something more meaningful than just a mountain.

I told the guys at Engadget about this whole thing, and they linked this thread on their webpage. Pretty much every Nintendo fanboy with access to the internet has now read this thread in some capacity.
I'm now starting to wonder if that word puzzle is really a puzzle or just a clue. Someone at Warp Pipe is named Tushar Singh. That leads me to believe that Tushar isn't meant to be unscrambled or anything like that, it's just a series of names. Although I don't know what horribel parents would name their child "jord".
I find it interesting that purog contains the letters 'RPG'...

The previous blurbs from Nintendo suggest that it would be better to see you opponent face to face when you battle them online. Maybe they're trying to get across an idea where some game(s) depend on you meeting and facing new opponents in the 'real world', using the wireless features as a 'foe finder'.

Not to criticize any deep thinking by anyone here, but maybe its not as cryptic or deep as all of you seem to think:
The "Marionette" picture has a light "S" between "Find" and "Me." MAYBE this means it has to do with the DS, but more likely (I think) it means "Finds Me," as in one can go anywhere with the DS and be found for games.
Marionette = Mario NET, or networked Nintendos. If that's right, then they like to use phonetic puzzles, which likely means that quosimodo is right with "You Join to Share Your Toy."
"Anti-Isolation" is pretty self-explanatory -- it will be hard to isolate yourself from others when playing the DS.
"You're lost in the woods of a city, and you know there are others there. But how do you know they're there if you're lost?" -- The DS connects to other DSs in the area through wireless communication, most likely 802.11b/g because of Bergmann's response to "...don't expect someone else to be able to provide matching. That's even assuming that the game will support 802."
"Touch, feel, interact. Unmask yourself! It's not online, it's noline!" ... No line -> No wires -> Wireless. The "Interact" is self-explanatory, so is the "Unmask" when you think about multiplay. Touch, feel could simply be touching the DS.
Also, the "You Jon Tushar Jord Tony" may mean: You can find the names of and/or people you are playing with - possibly GPS-enabled so players can find one another. Or maybe it just means you can talk to one another and ask for others' names. Luckily, they probably managed to make two puzzles out of it and also have it mean "You Join To Share Your Toy," which makes better sense.
The "To_Purog" picture looks to me like a picture of somebody playing a game on an in-dash car TV, certainly not any kind of map (it's got 3d wireframes in it) -- likely saying that it has wireless multiplayer that you can play while driving around in your car.

Well, I think I've tracked the Tushar/Jord thin
http://tushar.ca/index.php?page=data&id=2558
Something about Jord playing metroid on a DS at E3. I'm looking into it more.
Also, I zoomed in hard on the picture of the mannequin. There is obviously a DS in there, but the object next to it is troubling me. I'm thinking that it looks like a four port hub to me (router, switch, repeater, who knows). Just My two cents.
