It certainly looks like it may be some kind of wireless mesh network, and that would simply be the coolest thing -- EVER. Man, DS is gonna rule.
"...And wireless functions could link players in the same room – or across the country."
from:
and
"Wireless:
DS users will be able to connect with a local wireless network of up to 16 players. Nintendo's guaranteed range is 30 feet, but will extend far beyond that depending on circumstances. It assures high response rates required for real time game play, and will make use of both IEEE 802.11 and Nintendo's proprietary communication protocol, which provides low battery consumption...
...The DS technology also provides for a wireless LAN connection, which could allow a theoretically infinite number of players to connect at a hot spot and compete at a central game hub on the Internet, even if they're thousands of miles apart."

On the site I previously posted, Tushar DEFINITLEY has a connection to this thing. Read:
Bringing the Game Cube online!!!
I joined the project back in July of 2003 as the lead Windows programmer. As the project progressed I wrote the server and the protocol around it.
It's small team with 3 coders (Nate, Pete, and I) and one awesome project manager (Chad). Lots of funky stuff, lots of eggs, lots of fun.
Go to Warp Pipe
Well, this links him directly to chad, and definitley networking aspects. Now, He has a connection to Jord (Jordan), the DS, I dunno, I'm just throwing some crap out. There MIGHT be a connection to harvest moon in all of this, but that's just terrible speculation. I'll post more later.[/quote]

Alright. I can link Jon directly to Tushar and the DS as well ( http://tushar.ca/index.php?page=data&id=2557), but I can't get You (obviously) and Tony. Maybe I'm going down the wrong road, but that seems WAY to related to be false...

I jsut want to know one thing. Is Nintendo related to this at all, or is this just a 3rd party thing? Chances are Nintendo is related. Anyone been checking the popular game sites lately? No word whatsoever of this huge ordeal. Could this mean the media knows, and they don't want to tell us yet?

I know chad sad Ragnarok Online was unrelated, but now I'm not so sure. I'd been chasing the Kushar and Jord link, but I remembered something mere moments ago. No, my idea does NOT involve RO, but you'll understand soon 'nuff.
I remembered my Mythology classes, and Jord. Jord was a Norse female goddess, who symbolized the ancient earth. Not only that, but she was the father of Thor. And, this is how that card plays in with Ragnarok, Thor is 'going' to kill a Giant Snake during Ragnarok. The Giant snake is called the Midgar Serpent (I'm assuming no relation to the Midgar Zolom from FFVII).
What's this mean? Probably nothing. I'm just trying to put forth some ideas. This idea has flaws. Kushar and the rest of the people are unrelated in this theory. But, once again, the Ragnarok online card and Norse gods.... Jesus, I'm pulling at strings.

Could someone please explain to me why this is sturring such a big commotion?
We already knew that the DS had wireless connectivity and could connect to someone in the same room or to someone across the country via the internet.
Mario NET? So Nintendo is actually throwing out a whole system to organize connectivity? That'd be pretty neat.
Is this it or did I miss something?

I think the second object in the picture looks very much like a piano keyboard.
Nintendo sure knows how to handle marketing and PR. Look how many people want this thing, not only despite, but because they don't know much about it.
I come from slashdot, thought I'd insert a shameless plug for my website. If it looks messy, sorry. I could list a whole bunch of excuses, like, I'm only 15, my info tech class is still teaching me how to open microsoft word, I'm really busy, I worked all summer, its hosted on my computer at home on a cable modem, but I wouldn't do that ;p
Heres the coraled link:

help a guy out, click on some ads, much appreciated!
BTW, heres a link to what coral is, if you're curious:

The more I look at all of this, the more I'm starting to think that there's not a whole lot of mystery to it. The clues seem pretty self explanatory, and I think looking really deep for further meaning is pointless. If you read the comments this guy Dean is making on the N-sider boards, it seems pretty clear that he didn't mean for any of the images to be overly cryptic or full of deeper meaning. It's just his way of trying to verbalize something he's not allowed to say openly due to a non-disclosure agreement or something similar.
The DS is going to be network enabled, that's for certain. The real mystery behind all of this is Warp Pipe itself, and how involved are they in Nintendo's plans? Also, I am really interested in what the other object is in the marionette picture. The going theory is that it is three ds units lined up next to each other, but I don't buy that. I think it is some kind of add-on.

Thats the thing the Badtz, the pictres themselves are easy to determine, but piecing everything together to make a perfect match is difficult at this time. Hell, Chad and Dean are still letting out hints. We won't fully know until mid-October.
But I agree, everyone is over analyzing this thing way too much.

I believe that the Find Me not only states that he want's you to find his but it has DS in it which i think means DS not findsme. The picture of the kid in the forest shows him holding DS (of course) using it as a tracking devise for whoever wants him to come (don't recommend doing it when you get the DS tee hee). The anti-isolation means that you are not going to be alone while playing the DS. If these other people can find you you are going to be meeting new people. This isn't going to be your X-Box Live where you are across the country (but you will be able to do that), most of it will be the network build from one DS to another. Like I connect to my friends DS cause he's only 50Ft. away from me, but he's within 25 Ft. of another guy which strengthens our signal causing our DS's to work together and form a larger signal area, sucking more people into it making a large arena of people playing with each new person making the signla larger. This isn't going to be playing against random others, this is going to be face to face. The :
Chad wrote:
(you) (?) (?) (?) (?)

(you) (jon) (tushar) (jord) (tony)
means that yuo and 4 others may have been playing something on a console lets say, and you don't really know who they are. They are just nobodies. Just random people. But with the DS you know exactly who they are, you John Tushar(nickname) Jordan and Tony. It may also mean that you and nobody are playing one second, but when you get into range of the first guy John, he may be in range of the other 3 linking you all together.
The Purog pic shows a city in the dash of the car. GPS, maybe 3D imaging of the city for easier navigation. Meaning that if you put together the Purog pic and the (you)(jon)(tushar)(jord)(tony) clues together you can see that maybe the DS has some sort of navigation system that tells you where each of the four guys are playing at and you can find them. You can meet up and play face to face (hint-hint).
As for the pic of the marionette, i don't think the thing next to the DS is anything. Just something subtituted in there for a mouth. Anyway. Took me a while to write this. Probabl;y wont help but put's my ideas out there. Thx for reading.

Just a few things I noticed when I came in...feel free to ignore these, they're probably all wrong.
PUROG = scrambled words UO RPG? IE, Ultima Online? Silly raving, but it isn't 'group' apparently, and nothing else is a good lead...
And the Why Love Bees? quote....sounds to me like a really impressive anagram? It's just that the extra period after 'Virtual Is Real?' makes me think they're definitely scrambling it up somehow. Is there some sort of program that might take those words and put em all in different sentences to see if any make sense? Because I'd bet my bottom dollar that the words are definitely jumbled in that quote.
But that's just my 2 cents.
Yeah, I'm also from Slashdot.

I think it's important to note here that the purog picture of the in-dash gps unit was not one of the hint images. Someone just typed 'purog' into a google search and found that image. That's not to say that it isn't somehow relevant, but just that it wasn't provided by the people behind this whole mystery. Until someone really figures out what Purog means, the GPS image is just speculation.

You guys sure are persistent. In any case, I'll have you all know that I work for Nintendojo ( http://www.nintendojo.com), and there is something big on the horizon. You see, Nintendojo happens to be one of those select media sites "in the know" in regards to this little conspiracy.
The official announcement won't come until around November, though we at Nintendojo will have more, previously unknown *official* information tomorrow; prior to the first teaser, which won't come till mid-October.
I can't say any more, due to existing NDA's, but be sure to check out our special feature tomorrow for a good bit more than what you know now.

As much as I love the anagram idea, it's just not feasible. For instance, there are over 700(!) coherent anagrams for simply Why love bees.

There was a link on the N-Sider archive from I don't know when (found it by typing marionette into Google Image seach). It talks about some sort of marionete type game, I dunno if it is anything or not but here is the link:

I think it's not an anagram, but just moving around the words. I agree, if it was moving around the letters too that'd be waaaay too insane. But I'm too lazy to see if that leads anywhere.

Alright, I now believe the device next to the DS in this pic ^ is a mic.
It's been speculated that it's some sort of add-on device to make this new feature work, but as someone stated on the warp-pipe forums, it really does resemble a microphone. An older mic like this:
Your thoughts on this?

So, assuming this is a proper Leap-Frog/Mesh network, could the (obviously) tiny chip be placed into other nintendo things?
I mean, they've obviously been working on this for a while.
The new Gameboy would have a simillar chip, and I'd image a larger Gamecube HUB style add on wouldn't be unreasonable (no batteries to drain, for starters)
?

NO NO NO! There is NO connection to ilovebees.com (i hope . And there is no reason for an external microphone, there is a built in one already. Now, one thing I've noticed missing on all of the pictures of the DS is an antenna. Are they going without it, risking signal attenuation, or are they going to make it external?
Either way, this is obviously huge.
